“Family Promise realizes the great need in our county to help families going through a season of homelessness. Our belief is every child deserves a home and we are moving forward to make this a reality. We don’t exist to be just a shelter for our families but a program where lives are transformed. We help with prevention so people can stay in place. We educate our families on budgeting and life skills. And this year we are partnering with Family Promise National to pilot a stabilization program to help our families stay in their new homes. The need is great in our community and with the help of congregations, businesses, foundations, and grants, I believe we can meet that need. I love serving our community and to serve as the Executive Director is thrilling for me. Connecting with people and envisioning what could be for Family Promise of Butler County is exhilarating to the soul,” said Bruns.

 

Bruns brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit leadership, with a proven track record of community engagement and impact. He has been serving in the Executive Director role on an interim basis since November 2023. Before that, he served from February through July of 2022 as the Family Service Coordinator and returned in June 2023 as the Program Shelter Manager at Family Promise of Butler County. Concurrently, he was the Senior Pastor at Fairfield Wesleyan Church from 2014 through June 2023 and has been serving as the Youth & Family Pastor at Trenton GracePointe Church of the Nazarene since July 2023. His passion for social causes and dedication to making a positive difference align seamlessly with the values of Family Promise of Butler County.
